Seriously, go watch it.

SIMP FACTS:

  • THIS EPISODE IS AS GOOD AS ANY MOVIE.
  • EXCELLENT IN ALL CATEGORIES.

When it comes to the first episode in a new TV series, you simply can’t ask for anything more than season one, episode one of ‘Squid Game‘.

“Red Light, Green Light” kicks off Netflix’s viral Korean-language series by giving viewers 55 minutes of content that could at any moment be mistaken as something out of an award-winning theatrical film.

Everything — from the acting, the writing, the set design, the sound design, and of course, its immediately captivating premise, prove the hype behind this Netflix Original series is very, very, real, and that the show’s wordlwide success is owed to much more than a fun story gimmick.

Lead actor Lee Jung-jae sets ‘Squid Game’ on its path to transcend language barriers by fully embodying the loveable character of Seong in this one-of-a-kind script, and should blot out any hesitation amongst viewers whether or not to fully set sail on this nine-episode adventure.

And if its killer acting and characters somehow can’t grab you, its killer premise will.

While far from the first time we’ve seen a story where people compete with their lives on the line, ‘Squid Game’ takes things to a whole new level with its creativity, budget, and set-design.

The scope of “Red Light, Green Light” is absolutely staggering for just one episode, and in a world where high budgets are typically decided by tried and true formulas that guarantee popularity, this wacky Korean epic from Netflix takes its tentacles and throws the entire TV industry on its head.

There’s really no point in going into more specifics. If you are alive and have a pulse, go watch episode one of ‘Squid Game’.
